Project | 01 Soundr: DL for ASL

We used a deep learning approach to significantly improve Acoustic Source Localization of a single-location microphone IoT control system. We also created a new data collection pipeline to increase the size of our training data by over an order of magnitude compared to previous work. This work was presented at CHI 2020.

Project | 02 Redefining Liver Lobules

We used microCT slices with surgical imaging software to reconstruct human liver lobules. Using a mathematical & geometric approach, we predicted a 3D shape completely different than accepted literature and were able to demonstrate promising results on the biological form and vasculature of liver lobules. This work won several awards.

Project | 03 Printing Graphene Supercaps

In this project, we attempted to demonstrate the feasability of of printing GO on a paper dielectric using COTS inkjet printers. From here, the plan was to test the ability of these printed devices as supercapacitors. Unfortunately, we realized that powdered GO was not compatible with standard inkjet cartridge heads. Future work should examine the feasibility of this project using ink tank printers.
